Laryngeal prominence

Definition

The laryngeal prominence, commonly known as the Adam's apple, is a protrusion at the front of the neck formed by the thyroid cartilage of the larynx. It is more prominent in males and becomes visible during puberty as part of secondary sexual characteristics.
