Intracellular fluid (ICF)

Definition

Intracellular fluid is the liquid contained inside the cells of the body, making up about two-thirds of the total body water in humans. It is essential for maintaining cell shape, providing a medium for cellular processes, and facilitating transport of nutrients and waste products.
