Hepatic sinusoid

Definition

Hepatic sinusoids are specialized, capillary-like blood vessels located in the liver that facilitate the exchange of nutrients, oxygen, and waste between the blood and liver cells. They are lined with endothelial cells and Kupffer cells, playing a critical role in filtering blood as part of liver function.
