Epinephrine, also known as adrenaline, is a hormone and neurotransmitter produced by the adrenal glands that plays a crucial role in the body's fight-or-flight response by increasing heart rate, muscle strength, blood pressure, and sugar metabolism. It prepares the body for rapid action in situations perceived as stressful or dangerous.
