Definition

Ependymal cells are a type of glial cell that lines the ventricles in the brain and the central canal of the spinal cord, playing a crucial role in producing and circulating cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). These cells create a barrier between the CSF and nervous tissue, while also facilitating the movement of CSF.
