Deltoid ligament

Definition

The deltoid ligament is a strong, triangular band of tissue that connects the medial malleolus of the tibia to various bones of the foot. It serves as a major stabilizing structure for the ankle joint, preventing excessive eversion (outward turning) of the foot.
