Definition
Chordae tendineae are thin, cord-like structures that connect the papillary muscles to the tricuspid and mitral valves in the heart. They play a critical role in preventing the inversion of these valves during ventricular contraction.
A valve in the heart located between the left atrium and left ventricle; it has two cusps and is connected to chordae tendineae.
Tricuspid valve: A valve situated at the opening of the right atrium into the right ventricle, consisting of three cusps and is also connected to chordae tendineae
