Anterior (ventral) sacral foramen

Definition

The anterior sacral foramen are openings located on the front side of the sacrum, which is a triangular bone at the base of the spine that consists of fused vertebrae. These foramina (plural for foramen) allow for the passage of nerves and blood vessels to and from the pelvic organs.
