Definition
The anterior tibial vein is a blood vessel that drains oxygen-depleted blood from the front part of the lower leg to the popliteal vein located behind the knee. It runs alongside the anterior tibial artery in the lower leg.
Popliteal Vein: A vein located at the back of the knee that receives blood from the lower leg veins, including the anterior tibial vein, for transport back to the heart.
Anterior Tibial Artery: An artery that delivers oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the front part of the lower leg.
