Definition

The anatomical neck of a bone is the slightly constricted region immediately distal to the head of the bone, found commonly in the humerus of the upper limb. It marks the location where the bone's epiphysis (head) meets its diaphysis (shaft), serving as a key point for muscle attachment and articulation with other bones.
