Alarm reaction

Definition

Alarm reaction is the initial response of the body to stress, engaging the adrenal glands to release adrenaline and cortisol, initiating the "fight or flight" response. This phase is part of the General Adaptation Syndrome, preparing the body to either face or flee from perceived threats.
