Definition

Acclimatization is the process by which an individual's body adjusts to changes in its natural environment, particularly concerning oxygen availability at high altitudes. It involves physiological adjustments such as increased breathing rate and red blood cell count to enhance oxygen uptake and delivery to tissues.
