So many students think that rhetorical analysis is a matching game. They often fall short when thinking the writing task is to find specific rhetorical strategies in action and then simply match them with fancy terminology. We combat this myth head-on in this session. However, this session is much more than discussing what not to do. We offer an alternative to the matching game mindset: one that is proven to raise students’ rhetorical analysis scores.
