In this session, we are covering a more difficult topic. Hardy-Weinberg is a common target on the exam (and typically shows up as a grid question). In this video, we begin with a brief review of genetics, and cover some vocabulary words (allele, homozygous, heterozygous, genotype, phenotype, gene pool, population). We use a piggy diagram to review gene pools before discussing 5 causes for changes in alleles. We discuss Hardy-Weinberg conditions and equilibrium before we move into a set of practice Hardy-Weinberg problems.
