Definition
The proximal radioulnar joint is a pivot type of synovial joint located between the radius and ulna bones near the elbow, allowing for the rotation of the forearm. It plays a crucial role in enabling movements such as turning the palm up or down.
One of the two major bones in the forearm, positioned on the thumb side, that rotates around the ulna to perform motions like pronation and supination.
The longer of the two bones in the forearm, situated on the side opposite to the thumb, it forms a hinge joint with the humerus at the elbow and pivots with the radius at both ends (proximal and distal)
