The posterior compartment of the thigh is a group of muscles located at the back of the thigh, primarily responsible for extending the hip and flexing the knee. It includes muscles such as the biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus.
Another hamstring muscle that helps in bending the knee and extending the hip; it's situated medially in comparison to other muscles in this compartment
