Industrialization

Definition

Industrialization is the process by which an economy is transformed from primarily agricultural to one based on the manufacturing of goods. Individual manual labor is often replaced by mechanized mass production, and craftsmen are replaced by assembly lines.

Analogy

Think of industrialization like leveling up in a video game. Just as your character starts with basic skills and tools but gradually acquires more advanced ones, societies started with simple hand tools and farming techniques but eventually developed complex machines and factories that could produce goods much more efficiently.
