Urbanization
Definition
The process of making an area more urban, typically involving the shift from a rural to an urban lifestyle. This often occurs as a result of industrialization and is characterized by population growth in towns and cities.
Analogy
Think of urbanization like popcorn popping. Each kernel (or small town) starts off small, but with enough heat (or industrial development), it expands rapidly into a much larger piece of popcorn (a bustling city).
