Exurban Area

Definition

Exurban areas are regions beyond the suburbs of a city, often characterized by larger residential lots and lower population density. They offer more rural settings while still maintaining some connection to urban amenities.

Analogy

If cities are like the heart of an organism, pumping out resources and energy, then exurban areas would be like the farthest limbs - they're still connected to the body (city) but have their own space and function at a slower pace.
