Definition

The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granted American women the right to vote, a right known as women's suffrage.

Analogy

Think of the 19th amendment like unlocking a new level in a video game. Before this amendment, women were stuck on level one (no voting rights), but after its passage, they unlocked level two (voting rights).
