In Incan mythology, the Sun God Inti was considered the ancestor of the Incas and was revered as one of their most important deities.
Think of Inti like the CEO of a major company - in this case, the Incan pantheon. Just as a CEO is often seen as the figurehead and driving force behind a business, so too was Inti seen as a central figure in Incan religious life.
Inca Empire: The largest empire in pre-Columbian America that existed from 1438 to 1533, with its center in modern-day Peru.
Polytheism: The belief or worship in multiple gods. This is common across many ancient cultures including the Incas who worshipped Inti among other gods.
Quipu: An ancient Inca device for recording information, made up of various colored threads knotted in different ways.
