Indian Ocean Trade Network

Definition

A sea-based trade route that connected East Africa, Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. It facilitated the exchange of goods like spices, textiles, and precious stones during ancient times.

Analogy

Think of it as a giant water slide at an amusement park. Just like people can slide down from different points but end up in the same pool; goods could be traded from various ports but they all flowed through this 'water slide'!
