Silk Road

Definition

The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes that connected the East and West, stretching from China to the Mediterranean Sea. It played a significant role in economic, cultural, political, and religious interactions between these regions.

Analogy

Think of the Silk Road as a giant highway system before cars were invented. Just like how highways connect different cities and allow for goods to be transported across long distances today, the Silk Road connected various civilizations and facilitated trade across vast geographical areas.
