Definition

The consideration or application of an individual's race when making decisions, often in the context of affirmative action or diversity initiatives.

Analogy

It's like adding spices to a dish. You don't want it to overpower the meal (discrimination), but a little bit can enhance the flavor and make it more interesting (diversity).
