Definition

Representation refers to elected officials acting on behalf of their constituents within a legislative body. It's how citizens have their views expressed in government decisions.

Analogy

Imagine representation like a school class president who speaks on behalf of all students at school meetings. They take into account everyone's opinions before making decisions or proposals.
