Delegate Model

Definition

The delegate model of representation is a model of a representative democracy. In this model, representatives are elected to serve and act on the specific desires and needs of their constituents, even if those desires conflict with the representative's personal views.

Analogy

Think of the delegate model like ordering at a restaurant. You're the customer (constituent) and your waiter (representative) takes your order exactly as you want it, regardless of their own preferences or opinions about what's best on the menu.
