ATP is a molecule that stores and provides energy for cellular processes in living organisms. It is often referred to as the "energy currency" of cells.
Think of ATP as a rechargeable battery for your phone. Just like how you need energy from the battery to power your phone, cells need ATP to power their activities.
Cellular Respiration: The process by which cells convert glucose and oxygen into ATP, releasing carbon dioxide and water as byproducts.
Photosynthesis: The process by which plants use sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water to produce glucose and oxygen, ultimately leading to the production of ATP.
Metabolism: The sum total of all chemical reactions occurring in an organism's body, including the breakdown and synthesis of molecules using ATP.
