Cystic Fibrosis

Definition

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys, and intestine. It's characterized by abnormal transport of chloride and sodium across an epithelium, leading to thick, sticky mucus.
