Absolute Poverty:A condition characterized by severe deprivation of basic human needs, including food, safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, health, shelter, education, and information.
Relative Poverty:A condition where an individual's or household's resources are so far below the average individual or household in a country or community that they are, in effect, excluded from ordinary living patterns, customs, and activities.
Poverty Gap: The average shortfall of the total population from the poverty line, expressed as a percentage of the poverty line.
