The Baader-Meinhof Group, also known as the Red Army Faction (RAF), was a left-wing militant organization in West Germany that operated from the late 1960s through the 1990s. The group emerged during a time of widespread social unrest, influenced by student protests and workers' strikes, aiming to combat what they perceived as fascist tendencies in the West German state and global imperialism. The RAF engaged in armed resistance, including bank robberies, bombings, and kidnappings, as part of their radical ideology.
