Descriptive statistics involves organizing, summarizing, and presenting data in a meaningful way to describe its main features.

Analogy

Think of descriptive statistics as creating a snapshot or a summary of your favorite TV show. Just like how you summarize the plot, characters, and key moments to give someone an idea of what the show is about, descriptive statistics summarizes the important aspects of data to provide an overview.
