Bar charts are graphical representations of categorical data using rectangular bars. The height or length of each bar corresponds to the frequency or relative frequency of a particular category.
Imagine you have a candy store with different types of candies. You want to know which candy is the most popular among your customers, so you create a bar chart where each candy type is represented by a colorful bar. The taller the bar, the more popular that candy is!
Frequencies: Frequencies refer to the number of times an event or observation occurs in a dataset.
Relative frequencies: Relative frequencies represent the proportion or percentage of observations belonging to each category in relation to the total number of observations.
Categorical data: Categorical data consists of qualitative variables that can be divided into distinct categories or groups.
