The First Law of Thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed in an isolated system, but it can be transferred or transformed from one form to another.
Think of a piggy bank. You start with a certain amount of money (energy) in the bank. You can't create or destroy money, but you can transfer it between different compartments within the bank or transform it into different forms like coins or bills.
Heat Transfer: The process of thermal energy moving from a hotter object to a cooler object.
Internal Energy: The total energy stored within a substance due to its microscopic particles' motion and interactions.
Work: The transfer of energy that occurs when an object is moved by a force applied over a distance.
