Definition

Kc represents the concentration-based equilibrium constant. It uses molar concentrations (moles per liter) for calculation and applies when all reactants and products are present in same phase.

Analogy

Imagine making lemonade using water, sugar, and lemon juice. The perfect taste comes from balancing these ingredients - too much sugar makes it overly sweet while too little leaves it sour. In chemistry terms, this 'perfect taste' would be our 'equilibrium', and how we measure these ingredients would be our 'concentration'. So Kc is like our recipe card telling us how much of each ingredient we need for perfect lemonade!
