Global Urbanization

Definition

Global urbanization refers to the shift of population from rural areas to cities and towns worldwide, often due to industrialization and economic opportunities.

Analogy

Think of global urbanization like a game of musical chairs. As the music (economic opportunities) starts playing in the city, people from rural areas start moving towards it. When the music stops (when they find jobs or better living conditions), they settle down, leading to an increase in the city's population.
