Political and civil rights refer to the fundamental liberties and freedoms that individuals possess as members of a society. These rights include freedom of speech, assembly, religion, and the right to vote.
Think of political and civil rights as your "superpowers" as a citizen. They give you the ability to express yourself freely, participate in decision-making processes, and hold those in power accountable.
Human Rights: Basic entitlements that all individuals should have by virtue of being human, such as the right to life, liberty, equality, and dignity.
Rule of Law: The principle that all people are subject to fair laws enforced impartially by an independent judiciary.
Suffrage: The right to vote in political elections; also known as franchise.
