Definition

The First Amendment is a part of the United States Constitution that protects freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition the government. It guarantees citizens' rights to speak freely, worship as they wish, gather in peaceful assembly, report news without censorship, and challenge the government's actions.
