Definition

The substring() method is used to extract a portion of a string based on the specified beginning and ending indexes. It returns a new string that contains the characters from the original string within the given range.

Analogy

Think of a pizza. The substring() method is like slicing a piece of pizza from one point to another, where the beginning index represents where you start cutting and the ending index represents where you stop cutting. The resulting slice is your new substring.
