Definition

In politics, responsiveness refers to how well elected officials respond to the needs and concerns of their constituents.

Analogy

Imagine responsiveness like customer service at your favorite store. Just as good customer service responds quickly and effectively to your needs or complaints, responsive politicians listen carefully to their constituents' concerns and act upon them promptly.
