Definition
Synthetic fertilizers are man-made compounds that are applied to soil to provide nutrients necessary for the healthy growth of plants.
Analogy
Think of synthetic fertilizers as a protein shake for plants. Just like how athletes use protein shakes to supplement their diet and boost their performance, plants use synthetic fertilizers to get extra nutrients they might not be getting from the soil alone.
