Sucrose is a disaccharide composed of glucose and fructose. It's commonly known as table sugar.
Imagine sucrose as best friends who always hang out together - one friend represents glucose and the other represents fructose. Together they make up our everyday table sugar!
Fructose: This is a monosaccharide found in many plants where it's often bonded to glucose to form the disaccharide sucrose.
Photosynthesis: This process converts light energy into chemical energy stored in glucose or other compounds.
Carbohydrates: These are large biological molecules consisting of carbon (C), hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O) atoms, usually with a hydrogen–oxygen atom ratio 2:1; in other words, with empirical formula Cm(H2O)n.
