The subconscious refers to the part of our mind that is not currently in focal awareness but influences our feelings, thoughts, and actions.
Think of your mind as an iceberg. The tip above the water represents your conscious mind, what you're actively thinking about. But beneath the surface is a much larger portion of the iceberg - this is your subconscious. It's not immediately visible or accessible, but it's there, influencing everything you do.
Unconscious: This term refers to a reservoir of feelings, thoughts, urges, and memories that are outside of our conscious awareness. Most contents of the unconscious are unacceptable or unpleasant, such as feelings of pain or anxiety.
Preconscious: This term refers to thoughts which are not presently conscious but can be recalled to consciousness voluntarily or after something calls attention to them.
Implicit Memory: These are memories formed from behaviors learned at a subconscious level. They’re not consciously controlled and are typically formed through repetition and practice.
