Minor Third

Definition

A minor third refers to an interval between two pitches that spans three half steps. It creates a slightly tense or sad sound.

Analogy

Imagine two friends sitting on different swings at the park, but they are only three links apart on their chains. They can still reach out to each other, but there's some tension because they're not quite close enough.
