Thoracic vertebrae

Definition

The thoracic vertebrae are a group of twelve vertebrae located in the middle section of the vertebral column, between the cervical vertebrae at the top and the lumbar vertebrae at the bottom. They are distinguished by the presence of facets on their sides for rib attachment, supporting the ribcage and playing a crucial role in protecting vital organs within the thorax.
