How do I create an account? Is it free?
It’s absolutely free for anyone to create an account at Fiveable! Just head over to our app and sign up for an account and sign up — it takes less than a minute.
Why should I create my own Fiveable account?
All Fiveable users are welcome to save their spots for upcoming trivia games, live streams, and other events. Any engagement features such as live chat or posting in the community require you to have an account. Account holders will also have first access to all new product updates, promotions, career opportunities, and more. Soon, you’ll be able to view a list of content that you’ve viewed in the past. We’re always building in new features for our users to make their experience more personalized so keep checking back for updates.
I’m worried about my privacy. How can I use Fiveable while remaining anonymous?
How do I subscribe to specific subjects?
To change the subjects you’re following, head over to your account settings. Under “My Info & Subjects“, you’ll be able select the subjects you want to follow and change the email notification settings for those subjects as well.
How do I change my username?
To change your display name, head over to your account settings. Under “My Info & Subjects“, you’ll be able change your display name to whatever you’d like — as long as it doesn’t go against our house rules.
How do I change my avatar?
To change the subjects you’re following, head over to your account settings. Under “My Info & Subjects”, click on the avatar icon and a prompt will ask you to upload a photo. .JPG and .PNG files work best when uploading a profile photo.
Help! I’m not receiving my verification email.
When you create an account, you’re asked to verify your email address in order to use features that involve any type of user engagement. Please make sure to double-check your inbox and spam folder. To ensure that email notifications and event reminders arrive safely in your inbox, whitelist Fiveable. If you still have yet to receive an account verification email, reach out to us at email@example.com and we’ll gladly assist you!
Stop! I’m receiving too many emails.
Email is currently our main form of communication. We send out event reminders, surveys, product updates, and more via email. We certainly understand if you prefer not to receive emails — that’s why we built in settings to turn them on/off.
There are a few ways to limit the amount of communication you’re receiving from Fiveable. To change the type of emails you’re receiving, head over to your account settings. Under “My Account & Info”, you can (un)subscribe to the subjects of your choice. Under “General > Notifications“, you’ll be able to toggle on and off types of correspondence related to Fiveable.
I forgot my password. I tried requesting a password reset but I’m not receiving the password reset email.
If you still have yet to receive a password email, reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. In extreme cases, we may have to delete your account and create a new one with a different email address if you’re not able to access the reset password email. We’ll only offer this as an option when all other troubleshooting methods have been exhausted.
How can I delete my account?
We’d hate to see you go, but we understand! To delete your account, head over to your account settings. Click on the General tab and scroll to the bottom of the screen. Click on “Delete Account” to proceed with erasing your Fiveable profile. Note: Deleting your account is irreversible. We will be unable to reinstate your account and you’ll have to create a new one should you consider rejoining.
