2021 AP Scores Rolling Release, Early Score Options, and College Board:

AP score release day is one of the most important days of the year for any AP student. Scoring an equivalent of 3 or higher on your AP exam allows you to be eligible to redeem college credit for the equivalent college-level course. That could lead to potentially saving thousands of dollars on college expenses (depending on your college or university).
The 2021 AP exams were administered in a completely new way with 5+ separate administrations of the exams as well as different formats and rules for paper vs virtual exams. Due to these changes, it's difficult to gauge what exam AP exam scores you'll receive based on the number of rubric points scored this year, and even when you will receive your AP Exam Scores.

When are AP scores released 2021?

and when will I be able to access my AP Scores?

Administration 2July 21, 2021
Administration 3August 16, 2021

Due to COVID-19, the AP exam format was changed to support online and in-person formats and in some cases, delayed. As a result, exam scoring was also pushed back. If you took your exams in Administration 1 or 2, then your 2021 AP scores will be available on July 21st, and depending on where you live, you'll be able to access your scores at a certain time. Scores are rolled out in geographic phases. AP Scores from Administrations 3 & 4 will be released on August 16th.

How are AP exams being scored this year?

The massive AP exam reading events typically happen in-person on any given year. However, this year the 2021 AP exams will be digitally scored by thousands of trained exam readers.

How can I get my AP scores early?

"Early" here is a relative term. Since the time of day that your scores are released depends on your timezone, early AP scores just give you your scores a few hours to a day earlier by logging in from a different part of the world instead of your own timezone.
If you can't handle the anticipation of waiting for your scores, you can use services such as EarlyScores to help access your score early. EarlyScores uses a proxy to spoof your browser's location so that you can view your AP scores since access is dependent on geographic location.
To access your 2021 AP exam scores:
  1. Set up the EarlyScores proxy
  2. Head over to MyAP and sign into the AP scores page
  3. View the results for each of your exams
Important note: Even though you need to log in with your College Board credentials through the official EarlyScores proxy, they don't store your College Board login information. We can confirm that Early Scores is a completely free and safe service to use. Make sure that you have your login credentials ready to go!

How can I send my AP scores to my college or university?

Every AP student can send their AP scores to a college or university of their choice for free (up to one free score report). The 2020 deadline to send scores is June 30. so make sure you submit your request on time. Most importantly, this ensures your school is able to give you the proper amount of college credits on time.

What is EarlyScores? Is it safe?

This section of the post is from a conversation we had with the founder of EarlyScores, Jacob Buckheit, in 2019. We formed a partnership last year to help Fiveable students gain early access to their 2019 AP exam scores.
In 2014, with my first AP courses under my belt, I anxiously anticipated the release of my AP exam scores. What I realized at that time was that scores were rolled out by the College Board over a week’s time, and my AP scores would be accessible on one of the later dates.
The need to see my scores on the first available date spurred me to create EarlyScores.com.
Albeit rudimentary in its first year, the basic framework of the site was created to login to the College Board website using a server in a state where scores had already been released. Because I had the reputation of the biggest computer “nerd” on my high school campus, many of my friends trusted the technology and received accurate score reports earlier than our anticipated release date. Purely through word of mouth, use of the site spread.

Is EarlyScores real and legit?

EarlyScores.com has continued to grow through the years based on two premises. First, students want to know their results as soon as possible and second, students trust the integrity and technology behind EarlyScores.com. Here is a message to Fiveable students from the founder of EarlyScores.com,
"We are not affiliated with, nor endorsed by the College Board, therefore we never store a student’s information from their College Board account. When a student uses our site and chooses to enter their account information, it is used to fetch their AP scores only. The trust students place in our site has allowed us to experience tremendous growth.
My first indication that EarlyScores.com was being taken seriously was when I received a text from a friend who attended another high school who was referring me to go use the site. Now over 1,000,000 students use it every year. I am proud to have developed a site that has become a go-to resource for students and parents who are navigating such an important time in life.
EarlyScores.com provides actionable content, information and advice from fellow students, and the satisfaction of fulfilling the “need to know.”
