# AP® Resources for Massachusetts Schools | Fiveable

## Overview

Start with the AP learning goal, then plan responsible classroom implementation.

Give your AP teachers a shared place to assign practice, review student work, and plan follow-up lessons. Start with the teachers who need accounts, then bring a quote and the requested documents to your school or district’s review process.

## Plan accounts for your AP department

### Fund teacher-led practice

Teacher accounts support assignments and classroom results. Students complete their teacher’s assignments with free accounts. List the courses and teachers you want to include, then choose quantities for one teacher, an AP department, or several departments together.

### Choose independent study separately

Sponsored student accounts are optional for independent study beyond teacher-led assignments. Include them when your school wants to fund students’ use of the study library on their own. Teacher and student volume discounts are calculated separately in checkout.

### Plan your department rollout

Identify who will receive the setup link and assign purchased accounts. Choose the teachers, courses, and start date for your first assignments. Teachers review scores and feedback, then use classroom results to plan follow-up practice.

## Annual teacher pricing

- 1–4 teacher accounts: $129 each per year.

- 5–24 teacher accounts: $99 each per year.

- 25+ teacher accounts: $69 each per year.

For example, five teacher accounts cost $495 per year. Students complete those teachers’ assignments with free accounts. Optional sponsored student accounts add a separate cost.

## Choose the instructional purpose before the technology

Massachusetts DESE’s AI resources connect AI literacy with responsible use in teaching and learning. Its planning and implementation guidance treats adoption as an ongoing process shaped by educational purpose, safety, and school-community needs. For an AP department, begin with the skill students need to practice and explain how teachers will use the resulting work. A concrete lesson plan gives curriculum and technology reviewers a way to assess the proposed resource and identify preparation needs.

- What AP learning goal should the resource support, and where will students demonstrate their own understanding?

- How will teachers prepare students to evaluate generated content and follow classroom expectations for AI assistance?

- What privacy, access, and community-communication questions should reviewers answer before use, and when will the department revisit the plan?

Pair the proposed purchase with an assignment example and a review date. Confirm the district’s vendor-document requirements and approved teacher count before purchasing arranges access.

## From department plan to purchase

### Prepare an instructional plan and quote

Choose teacher quantities and any optional sponsored student accounts. Checkout calculates the annual price and lets you download a quote for your business office. Include the courses, quantities, and planned start date. Quotes are valid for 30 days, so check the date before your office issues a purchase order.

### Gather your district’s review packet

Ask your office which documents it needs, such as a signed W-9, privacy agreement, accessibility information, or security documentation. Include your district name and its required forms. The document request form opens an editable email draft; send that draft to submit your request.

### Complete the purchase and assign accounts

Your office can pay by card or arrange a purchase order using the quote ID. After Fiveable receives and reviews your PO, we send a setup link while your business office arranges payment. If you pay by card or bank transfer, we send the link after payment is confirmed. Use it to assign purchased accounts when teachers are ready.

## Massachusetts school purchasing questions

### Do we need to purchase an account for every student?

Students complete teacher-led assignments with free accounts. Purchase teacher accounts for the teachers who will assign work. Sponsored student accounts are optional for independent study beyond those assignments. Choose those quantities separately in checkout.

### How can we keep the review focused on teaching?

Name the learning goal, show the student task, and explain the teacher’s follow-up. Massachusetts DESE’s resources connect implementation with educational purpose. Use them to explain how the proposed tool fits your AP instruction.

### Can we request our district’s privacy documents?

Yes. Request documents for your district through the purchasing form. Include your district’s privacy agreement or vendor forms so Fiveable can review your office’s requirements.

### Can schools in Massachusetts purchase Fiveable with a PO?

Yes. Download a quote from school checkout, then have your business office submit its purchase order with the quote ID. Quotes are valid for 30 days. After Fiveable receives and reviews the PO, we send a setup link while the office arranges payment. Your district’s approval and purchasing procedures still apply.
