A synthesis reaction is a type of chemical reaction in which two or more simple substances combine to form a more complex product.
Think of a synthesis reaction like baking a cake. You start with individual ingredients (flour, eggs, sugar), and through the process of baking, they combine to create something new and more complex - the cake!
Reactants: These are the starting materials in a chemical reaction that react to produce products.
Product: This is the end result of a chemical reaction. In our analogy, it's the cake!
Covalent Bonding: This is one way that atoms can stick together to form molecules (like our cake ingredients combining). It involves sharing electron pairs between atoms.
