# Open a printable resource in the assignment builder

## Quick answer

Choose a supported resource in Print center, then select assign it online under Share this with students online. Fiveable opens a prefilled assignment draft. Review every section and setting, then publish the student link.

## What to do

1. **Choose the resource**: Open [Print center](/printables), then select Subject, What to print, and the resource-specific options.

2. **Select assign it online**: Use the button in Share this with students online. It appears for accounts with access to the Teacher Workspace.

3. **Review the prefilled draft**: The builder carries the supported subject, template, or resource reference into a new assignment. Check that every generated section matches the printable you intended to use.

4. **Choose Settings**: Set class, timing, attempts, grading, and result release.

5. **Preview and publish**: Preview the student view, then select Publish and share the link.

## If something is not working

### assign it online is missing.

Confirm you are signed in to a teacher account with the Teacher Workspace. Some printable types do not have a matching online assignment path.

### The draft does not contain the exact printable layout.

The assignment builder creates an online version, not a copy of the paper layout. Review the sections and use Print when you need the printable format itself.
