# Continue to Google Classroom after publishing

## Quick answer

Choose Continue to Google Classroom when you publish. Fiveable opens a Google Classroom handoff with the assignment title, instructions, and link prepared. Choose the class and finish the Assign action in Google Classroom.

## Before you start

- Sign in to the Google account that manages the class you want to use.

## What to do

1. **Select Publish**: Finish the Fiveable draft and select Publish.

2. **Choose Continue to Google Classroom**: Use How will you share this with students? to choose Google Classroom, then publish the Fiveable assignment.

![Published assignment header with Continue to Google Classroom beside Copy link and Open student view.](/img/teachers/assignment-header-actions.jpg)

*After publishing, use Continue to Google Classroom to finish the post in the correct Google class.*

3. **Review the Google Classroom post**: Google Classroom opens with the title, instructions, and Fiveable link prepared. Choose the correct class and check the due date and topic there.

4. **Select Assign in Google Classroom**: The post is not sent until you finish this step in Google Classroom.

5. **Check both systems**: The Fiveable assignment should show Collecting responses. The class stream should contain the post you finished in Google Classroom.

## What students see

Students open the Fiveable link from Google Classroom. Their assignment work and scores live in Fiveable; posting the link does not copy a Fiveable score into a Google Classroom gradebook automatically.

## If something is not working

### Google Classroom opened, but no assignment was posted.

Return to Google Classroom, choose a class, and select Assign. Fiveable prepares the handoff but cannot finish that Google Classroom action for you.

### The wrong Google account opened.

Switch to the Google account that manages your class, then use Continue to Google Classroom again from the published assignment.
